A China expert claimed on Sunday, Aug. 15, that Chinese leader Xi Jinping knew the contagiousness of COVID-19, but had refused to tell the rest of the world about it, allowing it to spread to other countries.

Appearing on “The Cats Roundtable” radio show on WABC 770 AM, expert Gordon Chang said that Xi lied to the international community about the virus at its outset, Newsmax reported.

Xi “took steps in 2019 and early 2020 to release this virus on the world. He lied about its contagiousness. He knew it was highly contagious,” Chang said.

“He was locking down his own country, he was pressuring other countries not to impose travel restrictions and quarantines on arrivals from China. And it was those arrivals that spread this disease around the world,” Chang claimed.

Chang said that the global pandemic has now come back to spread throughout China, because “the bug doesn’t respect” the country’s policy.

According to this expert, China started to announce the emerging of the Delta variant on July 20, but it has now spread to most of the country, including the big cities. Beijing has had to take draconian measures, as well as mass testing.

Chang also warned Americans about traveling to China and staying there even without the coronavirus, claiming that the Chinese Communist Party is currently going after foreigners as part of their “hostage diplomacy.”

“I believe that Americans should not be staying in China given the nature of China’s attacks on the U.S.,” he said.
