The Chinese Communist Party has been deliberately lying to the world about the number of deaths due to the coronavirus. Not surprising, given their history of coverups.
Remember the SARS virus, which brought much of Asia to its knees after Chinese officials successfully kept news of the outbreak from the rest of the world for months, denying there was any problem.
Then, there was the avian or bird flu, which had spread from China to 35 countries by 2006, decimating wild birds and the poultry industry, and causing hundreds of deaths of humans worldwide. What did Chinese officials know about the bird flu, and when did they know it, there is no freedom of the press in China.
The coverup of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China and the mass killing of these gentle meditators in a horrific organ harvesting racket has been hidden from the rest of the world for decades. Only through persistently exposing the horror by those who follow the practice outside of China, and a handful of legal experts, and concerned citizens, has the Western world become aware of what has been going on. Yet, still, China denies the atrocities are happening.
Now, information on the novel coronavirus that is infecting the world, that originated in Wuhan, was deliberately withheld from the rest of the world, until it had become too hard to conceal.
One expert disputes the official number of deaths (425) from the coronavirus as deliberate deception. “That number is far too low,” Gordon Chang, author of the book “The Coming Collapse of China,” said Monday on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”
Chang said officials have “just lost the ability to pick up corpses” due to a “breakdown in government.”
“So really what we are having right now is, they are completely overwhelmed,” he added. “They are not able to keep accurate statistics. So what we are witnessing is essentially a breakdown in government and keeping accurate statistics is a very minor part of their priorities right now.”
Chang believes the quarantine put into place in Wuhan has just exacerbated the problem, with those becoming sick at home unable to get any treatment.
“I can understand why they want to quarantine but remember, the Wuhan mayor said about 5 million people from his city left before the quarantine was imposed,” he said. “Also right now the quarantine has aggravated a problem and that is [that] people can’t get to hospitals, so they are at home … they are dying.”
“They are infecting other people in their households because they are not, in a sense, quarantined from wives, husbands, brothers, sisters,” he continued.
“The quarantine has made the problem worse. It’s also created panic. That panic has had consequences on, for instance, social cohesion, which is absolutely necessary if you want to beat an epidemic,” said Chang. “It’s not just Wuhan,” he said. “Many virologists think that [conditions in] Wuhan will be duplicated in cities like Shanghai, maybe even Beijing. Clearly there is fear everywhere throughout China right now.”
“This is only going to get worse,” said Chang, who believes the virus will likely not be contained until “April or May,” reports Fox News.
