Under growing pressure to boycott the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, the Chinese regime has hired U.S. firm Vippi Media to promote the event scheduled to start on February 4th.
According to Vision Times, many human rights groups have asked NBC and other U.S. television stations not to broadcast the event. Some U.S. companies such as Coca-Cola, Visa, Intel are also under pressure to withdraw from sponsoring the Beijing Olympics.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) requested Vippi Media to hire 8 influential media people to produce at least 24 Olympic content, then post it on influential social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter and TikTok.
The contract between the CCP and Vippi Media stipulates that 70% of the content Vippi transmits must be about interesting and meaningful things about the Beijing Olympics at the time “before, during, and after each match.”
The next 20% of content talks about US-China cooperation and other good things, such as US-China cooperation in fighting climate change and finding new energy sources.
The remaining 10% of the content focuses on hot searches and breaking news provided by the Chinese Embassy in the U.S.
Vippi Media Company is based in New Jersey. The contract between the Chinese Embassy in New York and Vippi Media is valid from November 22 to March 13 next year. The Chinese Embassy in the U.S. paid Vippi $300,000 USD, and Vippi received $210,000 USD in advance, Secret China reported.
Earlier this month, the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia among others, announced a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Olympics to protest the CCP’s human rights abuses.
