African American comedian Whoopi Goldberg wants the Biden administration to probe a television celebrity for being too popular in Eastern Europe.
Goldberg believes the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) should immediately investigate Fox News host Tucker Carlson for Russian collusion.
ABC’s “The View” co-host complained about Moscow recently directing Russian media organizations to circulate Tucker’s talk show and current affairs program instead of hers.
“They used to arrest people for doing stuff like this [because] they thought you were colluding with a Russian, and thought you were putting out information or taking information and handing it over to Russia … but I guess now there seems to be no bars,” she said in a video shared on Twitter.
Goldberg admitted on national television that she despises Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“People are not being told to hate Putin. Putin does not need a reason to be hated—it is pretty much clear,” she said.
Co-host Ana Navarro recommended the federal government should appoint a special unit to oversee the matter.
“DOJ, in the same way that is setting up a task force to investigate [Russian] oligarchs, should look into people who are Russian propagandists and shilling for Putin,” she said in the video. “If you are a foreign asset to a dictator it should be investigated.”

In the document entitled “For media and commentators (recommendations for coverage of events as of 03.03),” the Russian Department of Information and Telecommunications Support recently applauded Carlson for openly resisting Joe Biden’s sanctions in response to Russia’s proposed invasion of Ukraine.
“[Carlson] sharply criticizes the actions of the United States [and] NATO, their negative role in unleashing the conflict in Ukraine, [and] the defiantly provocative behavior from the leadership of the Western countries and NATO towards the Russian Federation and towards President Putin, personally,” a leaked memo said.
“It is essential to use as much as possible fragments of broadcasts of the popular Fox News host, Tucker Carlson,” the memo added.
The Kremlin then repeated Carlson’s rhetorical question about whether America would do the same if a “situation developed” in Mexico or Canada.
“Russia is only protecting its interests and security,” the memo said.
