The CEO of Truth Social, Donald Trump’s social network, Devin Nunes, stated that it will have rigorous content moderation to ensure that the community created online is “family-friendly.”

“We want to be very family-friendly, we want this to be a very safe place, and we are focused on making sure any illegal content is not on the site,” Nunes told  Fox Business on Jan. 24.

With certain people expected to flood the social network with ‘illegal content’ since its launch, projected for later this quarter, Trump Media & Technology Group’s (TMTG) social media platform has partnered with Hive, a California-based D-series startup.

Hive’s role will be to provide technology that enables automated moderation of video, image, text, and audio content through cloud-based artificial intelligence.

Nunes said, “Hive has a great track record in this, and they have been good to work with. They are very helpful for our team and because of their experience, I think they’re helping to craft the right spot for us,” adding, “We want to be the most family-friendly site.”

In this regard, Kevin Guo, co-founder and CEO of Hive, explained that their system excludes sexually explicit content or material that includes violence, harassment, hate speech, and spam.

“Our stance, unlike other companies, we, by definition, are doing a net positive. I don’t care who you are, if you want to make your community a safer place, you should be given the tools to do so,” said Guo.

He complimented by saying, “This is not political. These are not things that are left or right or have any political baggage. Our moderation is based on these core concepts that, we think, are universal.”

Hive has dozens of clients, including Parler, Reddit, Giphy, Yik Yak, OnlyFans, Omegle, Josh, IRL.

On the other hand, Nunes, who was serving as a congressman, stepped down to lead Trump’s new media venture. Among other goals, he hopes TMTG will help all those alternative platforms to Big Tech thrive.

In addition, he will seek to make it a focus of free speech and generate the ‘freest’ platform for Americans and the rest of the world.

“You have TRUTH Social platform, but we are also heavily looking at streaming and having a streaming service, and that is in development right now,” Nunes told Fox News.

He added: “We are also looking at how we deliver the news, and deliver news to people. That is more conceptual right now.”

He also reiterated that it is designed for the family: “This is a quality, user-friendly product. It will be in chronological order, and the feed will be so that you don’t miss what your distant relative posted about their kid’s soccer game over the weekend,” Nunes explained.

“We want this to be something that you’re not worried about your kids or your grandparents being on,” he added.
