Dr. Jill Stein, the Green Party’s 2016 nominee for president and Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) pushed back an unfounded claim from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and challenged her to a debate.

“In light of the latest slanderous allegations from Hillary Clinton, I challenge her to a debate,” Stein tweeted, adding “It’s a shame HRC is peddling conspiracy theories to justify her failure instead of reflecting on real reasons Dems lost in 2016.”

In a recent interview, Clinton, who lost the 2016 presidential election to Donald Trump, blasted both Stein and Gabbard as being used by Russia and appeared to place blame on Stein for her loss.

“She’s the favorite of the Russians,” Clinton attacked Gabbard, claiming she was set up to run a third party. “They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far.”

After pushing back on Clinton’s claim, Gabbard called Clinton the “queen of warmongers” and accused Clinton “and her proxies” of starting a “smear campaign” to damage her candidacy.

Gabbard is fundraising off her feud with Clinton, calling on Clinton to “face her directly” in the 2020 Democratic primary, reported the Hill.

“If its a fight she wants to have, one that has implications for all of us and the future of our democracy, then I challenge her to come out from behind her proxies and powerful allies in the corporate media, and face me directly,” reads a fundraising email sent to supporters by Gabbard on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Clinton’s comments have drawn condemnation from both sides of the aisle.

“Hillary’s comments about Tulsi just make totally clear how ridiculous the Russia conspiracy crowd has become,” said journalist Krystal Ball.

“Tulsi Gabbard deserves much more respect and thanks than this. She literally just got back from serving our country abroad,” tweeted 2020 Democratic contender Andrew Yang.

President Donald Trump also took to Twitter in defense of Stein and Gabbard, saying Clinton has gone “Crazy” with her comments.

“So now Crooked Hillary is at it again! She is calling Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard “a Russian favorite,” and Jill Stein “a Russian asset,” he tweeted. “As you may have heard, I was called a big Russia lover also (actually, I do like Russian people. I like all people!). Hillary’s gone Crazy!
