Law Officer has partnered together with Defend The Heroes to conduct their first SECONDS 2 SURVIVE CHALLENGE hosted by Sheriff Mark Lamb. And the list of invited guests will astound you.
The challenge will be held in July, helping participants experience what’s it like to be a cop and have to make split choices about whether or not to use force that may result in death.
Although it is all just a game, the experience will be as real as it gets because of state-of-the-art simulation arms, live performers, and scenarios built on real police experiences.
The task is expected to expose misconceptions and misapprehensions about how police officers act when faced with using lethal force when confronted by serious criminals directly.
It is intended to promote discussion and offer context for further understanding the threats, obstacles, and threats that law enforcement officers encounter daily throughout the United States.
The Seconds 2 Survive Challenge is defined in detail by Defend The Heroes.
- Help officers and departments in police officers who may not be able to afford instruction.
- Keep simulator and protective devices up to date.
- Help a greater comprehension of how cops deal with lethal force incidents
- Confront the propaganda, misconceptions, and falsehoods about shootings by police spread by lawmakers, the press, and others.
- Clarify and contextualize Supreme Court decisions like Graham v. Connor, as well as similar legislation and values.
On July 22, 2021, the course will take place at the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office in Arizona.
Sheriff Lamb extends an invitation to these politicians and experts to attend: Senator Cory Booker, Attorney Ben Crump, LeBron James, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Joy Reid, Rev. Al Sharpton, Rep. Rashida Tlaib.
Attendees will be exposed to cutting-edge technologies as well as “real-life” situations. Contestants will be judged on how they handle lethal force incidents with just moments to respond.
And, different from other initiatives, the challenge will not end there: some attendees will see firsthand how the mainstream tries to control actual occurrences through skewed news stories and public network messages.
The Seconds 2 Survive Challenge is as realistic as it comes, from first receiving the alert to being canceled—and struggling to contain a serious violent confrontation in between.
The Challenge is focused on the facts of the case of real-life deadly force events, along with those that have made headlines in the news and on social networks. It also reflects a crucial reality acknowledged by the U.S. Supreme Court: several police lethal force incidents can occur in a couple of seconds.
The Seconds 2 Survive Challenge attempts to explain the real-world sense of trying to resist a lethal force incident using the Fourth Amendment’s objective reasonableness test and other concepts from the Supreme Court’s Graham v. Connor decision, which only a very few people appear to comprehend.
“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures shall not be violated,” according to the Fourth Amendment.
Law Officer has agreed to sponsor the Seconds 2 Survive Challenge in collaboration with Defend The Heroes to put capabilities to the test and transform thinking through situational knowledge and experience.
