President Donald Trump officially launched his 2020 re-election campaign at a high energy rally in Orlando, Florida, on Tuesday night.
“And that is why tonight I stand before you to officially launch my campaign for a second term as president of the United States. Thank you,” announced the president.
Twenty thousand supporters filled the Amway Center while large overflow crowds watched the rally outside the venue on big screens. Supporters lined up 40 hours in advance and 120,000 ticket requests were made to the campaign.
The president tested out audience response to possible slogans for the 2020 campaign.
“Are you ready? First we do make America great again. Then we do keep America great. Let me hear it. Ready. Make America Great Again. (Audience cheers.) Not bad, not bad. I would have said that three years ago wouldn’t be a contest right? You’re ready. Keep America great. (Audience cheers louder) Wow. (Audience chants, U-S-A, U-S-A. U-S-A) I’m sorry MAGA country but that wasn’t too close. I thought you had it and then I heard this cheer. My eardrums will never be the same. Keep America great!” said the president.
The president discussed a wide range of his administration’s accomplishments including the economy, health care for veterans, tax relief, increased job numbers across the spectrum, and foreign policy accomplishments, particularly multiple concerns regarding China.
The president also shared why he has come to love his job, despite the resistance that he and his administration have faced.
“When I get behind my desk in the beautiful Oval Office I think about only one thing. How the American people are going to win-win-win today. And I’m fighting for you and I think you see that. Not easy. But I love it. And the reason I love it; because there have been few presidents that have been able to do what we’ve been able to do for you and it’s a great, great feeling. Thank you. I love it,” said President Trump.
The president also highlighted his America first agenda, which includes energy production, border security, immigration reforms, and separating the United States from the globalist movement as he pledged his commitment to the American people.
The president said, ”Together we’re breaking the most sacred rule in Washington politics. We are keeping our promises to the American people. Because my only special interest is you. I don’t have a special interest I don’t care. I don’t care.”
