The NYPD said on Thursday that they were searching for up to ten people after a 14-year-old boy was shot and robbed on a Bronx street by a gang. According to police, the large group confronted the teen near Morris Avenue and East 140th Street in the Mott Haven area of Manhattan around 4:30 p.m. last Friday.

The group began physically attacking the boy before the attack escalated when one of the attackers pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the buttocks, authorities stated.

Police said one of the assailants then snatched the boy’s iPhone before fleeing the scene.

The teen was taken to a local hospital by EMS and treated before being released.

The New York Police Department released surveillance photos of nine of the ten suspects wanted in connection with the attack in the hopes that the public could help locate them.
