New York Police Department (NYPD) is investigating a series of assaults on Hasidic Jews in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, on Monday, Aug. 12, as hate crimes.
Three Hasidic Jews, between the ages of 56 and 71, were violently mugged within an hour, CBS New York reported.
The victims were snuck up on from behind and punched in the face. Their pockets were rummaged then. At least two people were transported to the hospital.
The first attack occurred on Ross Street, the second on Wythe Place, and the third on Clymer Street.
The NYPD’s Hate Crimes unit and the local precinct are investigating the assaults, according to NYPD Chief Dermont Shea.
