A man found naked at the top of a 150-foot steel power line was rescued thanks to a team effort by several agencies early Sunday morning, Aug. 25.

Employees at the Comanche Power Plant southeast of Pueblo found the man yelling just after 4 in the morning.

Police officers were called to the scene to find the 29-year-old New Mexico man apparently stuck on top of the tower.

A police negotiator tried to talk the man down on a patrol vehicle PA system. Firefighters arrived and raised a ladder from a fire truck as high as possible on the tower.

Investigators got in contact with the man’s father in New Mexico, who said he wasn’t sure how his son ended up in Colorado but said his son had struggled with drug abuse, police wrote.

Paramedics took the man to a hospital for evaluation and treatment.
