Kanye West urged black voters in the United States “not to just vote” for the Democrats during an event in New York City.

In a surprise 35-minute presence before a crowd of about 500 at the New York City’s Fast Company’s Innovation Festival, West spoke about his understanding of “power” for black Americans—that it is not about voting for Democrats.

“Don’t just be a demographic. Own your power,” said the Grammy-winning rapper and fashion mogul, who had previously declared his support for President Donald Trump.

“Your power is not to just vote Democrat for the rest of our lives. That’s not the power,” West advised black voters.

West continued, “The power is when I talk to my lawyer … I put on my trench coat and said, ‘We’re moving these factories to America, and that’s how it’s going to be’—and it’s lovely.”

The “Jesus Is King” rapper, who launched a new algae sneaker from his popular Yeezy line, hopes the creation becomes an inspiration and example of American manufacturing.

“We moved the headquarters to Cody,” Wyoming said West. “Our goal is to bring the manufacturing back to America—South America, North America—bring it back stateside and to present jobs for people back here,” continued the 42-year-old musician and fashion entrepreneur.

The rapper superstar’s fashion company expects to peak $1.5 billion in sales in 2019, according to Forbes.

West revived speculation of his plans to run for U.S. president in 2024 during his impromptu appearance at the Fast Company Innovation Festival.

“When I run for president in 2024, we’re going to definitely… yo whatchu all laughing at?” West asked when the crowd was laughing at his statement.

“When I run for president in 2024, we would’ve created so many jobs that, in fact, I’m going to walk,” said West.

“What I’m saying is, when y’all read the headlines, ‘Kanye’s crazy,’ this and that, this and that, it’s like one in three African Americans are in jail and all of the celebrities are in jail also because they can’t say nothing! They’ve got no opinion! They’re so scared!”

This was not the first time the “Jesus is King’”rap superstar spoke about running for the presidential campaign. West had mentioned it several times.

West’s latest gospel-rap album “Jesus is King” is No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, with every song on the album making its way onto the Billboard’s Hot 100.
