A recently published book aimed at children under 13 aims to normalize abortion as “just another possible outcome of pregnancy.” In addition to being available in bookstores, the controversial book will be offered at abortion clinics and public libraries across the country in the coming months.
Two militant pro-abortion doulas, who introduced themselves as Carly Manes and Mar, launched an online fundraising campaign on May 10 under the book’s name: “What’s an Abortion, Anyway?” reported by Breitbart.
By early June, the couple had raised more than $20,000 from more than 500 backers to publish their book in English and Spanish. They reported that they wrote the book because they felt that there was a lack of material on abortion for children, at least in the United States.
The obvious objective of the authors is to collaborate with the leftist current that seeks to “normalize” among children certain issues that today continue to be a source of controversy and ideological confrontation. In this way, they seek to secure their support and thus, soon find it increasingly less difficult to impose their progressive agenda.
“We believe in building a world for kids and adults where abortion is normalized as another outcome of pregnancy, just like miscarriage and birth,” the authors said on their fundraising page.
The authors also stressed how important it is for them that this book is in bookstores and available in public libraries to ensure access for as many children as possible.
“Having this book in the children’s section of libraries next to all of the books about pregnancy is one of the ways we hope to do that,” they continued.
On their Instagram page, in addition to promoting it for parents to buy this book for their children, they recommend those who don’t have children to buy it anyway to donate it to some abortion clinics in the United States.
In their day-to-day work as abortion doulas, Manes and Mar say they work by guiding women through the abortion process regularly and providing emotional support.
Manes describes herself as “a white, queer, Jewish full-spectrum doula from New York” who has supported “more than 2,000 individuals during their in-clinic procedures,” over a period of six years.
For her side, Mar identifies herself as the book’s illustrator and describes herself as a “brown genderqueer cultural worker and full-spectrum doula.”
As one might imagine, the abortion multinational Planned Parenthood is involved in the affair. In fact, on the book’s Facebook page, Manes and Mar admit to working with the firm to donate the book to clinics across the country, seeking to reach as many children as possible. They also announced they are donating at least 300 copies of the book to U.S. public libraries.
In a video on their website, the authors sent a contradictory message in which they claim that the book is not a “policy advocacy tool,” however, they also openly express that they are seeking to change what is considered appropriate to discuss with children, specifically talking about abortion in a positive way, i.e., with a clear intention to impose a specific idea on the most influential sector of the population, our children.
