House Democrats who were quick to slam President Donald Trump’s decision to order an airstrike that killed Iran’s most notorious commander, Qassem Soleimani, turned their backs on democratic protesters taking to the streets in Iran over the weekend.
U.S. Democratic leadership sympathized with Soleimani and the Iranian regime, while the majority of Iranian people stood with the Trump administration.
After the regime admitted to shooting down the Ukrainian jetliner killing all 176 people on board, Iranian citizens began protesting their government.
President Trump tweeted his message of solidarity with Iranian protesters who are victims of an oppressive government.
“To the leaders of Iran – DO NOT KILL YOUR PROTESTERS. Thousands have already been killed or imprisoned by you, and the World is watching. More importantly, the USA is watching,” President Trump tweeted.
“Turn your internet back on and let reporters roam free! Stop the killing of your great Iranian people!” continued President Trump’s message.
On Sunday evening, Jan. 12, President Trump sent a Twitter message in Farsi, telling the Iranian regime “don’t kill your protesters.”
The message was translated as, “National Security Adviser suggested today that sanctions & protests have Iran “choked off,” will force them to negotiate. Actually, I couldn’t care less if they negotiate. Will be totally up to them but, no nuclear weapons and “don’t kill your protesters.”

Earlier on Saturday, Jan. 11, President Trump’s tweet in Farsi articulated support for Iranians protesting their leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
“To the brave and suffering Iranian people: I have stood with you since the beginning of my presidency and my government will continue to stand with you. We are following your protests closely. Your courage is inspiring,” tweeted President Trump.

President Trump’s tweet in Farsi attracted over 360,000 likes, making it the “most liked Persian tweet” in Twitter’s history.
But, where are the Democrats? Where is Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn) who backs the boycott, divest, and sanction movement against Israel, and the other members of the ‘Squad’?
And where are the presidential contenders who hope to unseat President Trump? Last week they were ranting and railing about the risk of war following President Trump’s successful strike against the Iranian regime.
On Sunday, during her appearance on ABC News with anchor George Stephanopoulos, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), snubbed Iranian protesters.
She dodged a question whether she supported the Iranian protesters and dismissed the protests against the Iranian regime, saying that there are “different reasons why people are in the street.”
Her remarks attracted widespread criticism on social media after she downplayed anti-regime demonstrations in Iran over the weekend. Here’s a sample of responses.
I’m an Iranian-American and my kids were born here. I’m really worried for their future when I see the representative of nation the saying lie to people front of the camera. Freedom and democracy is base of American values. Stop #NancyPelosiFakeNews. Be committed to American values. pic.twitter.com/8Vaxb3I45Z

She is dancing around the question. This is really sad and scary. As a Democrat I’m ashamed and have no place to turn other than joining Trump for 2020.

This is the best reason we all vote republican. Trump is Iranians’ hero. Trump will clean up Carter’s and Obama’s mess. Trump and term limits 2020

While Iranians are being slaughtered in the streets of Iran by the Islamic regime, Nancy Pelosi’s response to the #IranProtests is absolutely disgusting!
Well, I guess she’s more concerned about giving President Trump a win than doing what’s obviously right!#NancyPelosiFakenews
