A customer armed with a concealed gun shot two robbery suspects at a 7-Eleven store, killing one and injuring the other, according to authorities in North Carolina.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police representative Cindy A. Wallace said in a news release that two suspects held the customer at gunpoint and took his wallet on Thursday morning, Aug. 8.

That was when they said the customer “perceived a lethal threat” and pulled out his gun and shot the two suspects.

News outlets reported that Qwanterrius Stafford, 16, died at a hospital.

Police charged Brenna Harris, 17, with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and armed robbery of a person.

North Carolina automatically charges teenagers 16 and older as adults.

The customer will not face any charges, news outlets reported.
