President Joe Biden on Friday ordered the creation of a commission to study possible reforms to the Supreme Court, including a much-heralded increase in the number of justices, which is a key issue for left-leaning members of the Democratic Party.

It will also look at broadening the federal judiciary base as part of the same goal of filling the judiciary with judges sympathetic to globalist and leftist policies.

According to the official White House statement, on Friday, the order announces the creation of “the President’s Commission on the Supreme Court of the United States, comprised of a bipartisan group of experts on the Court and the Court reform debate.”

The supposedly bipartisan commission will be chaired by Bob Bauer and Cristina Rodriguez, both of whom are former employees of the Obama administration’s Office of Legal Counsel.

According to the White House press release, the commission will have a total of 36 members, comprised mainly of academics, and has been instructed to study the possibilities of modifying the U.S. judicial structure within 180 days before issuing a final report that will be considered in moving forward with effective changes.

Bauer has been an advocate of term limits for Supreme Court justices. In 2005, he wrote for the Washington Post that “in our system of government, we normally restrict great power with limits rather than authorize its indefinite exercise.” So you can imagine where the commission will start attacking.

Calls to expand the Supreme Court by more radicalized Democrats began to grow late last year following Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death.

Former President Donald Trump nominated Amy Coney Barrett as a replacement on the Supreme Court, after previously appointing Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, giving the court a 6-3 conservative tilt.

Biden, during his candidacy, was repeatedly questioned about his intentions to expand the Supreme Court but generally managed to dodge such questions.

Interestingly, Justice Stephen Breyer, the Court’s most senior member, earlier this week warned liberal advocates to be very careful before making major changes, including expanding the number of justices. Breyer said in a speech Tuesday that advocates should think “long and hard” about what they propose. The politically driven change could diminish the trust Americans place in the court, Breyer said.

A recent plan, proposed by far-left judicial activists, calls for Senate Democrats to add hundreds of new federal judges to the lower courts through a procedural tactic known as the “reconciliation process.”

Daily Caller revealed the far left’s new strategy would be the first to expand the federal courts and fill them with judges sympathetic to the progressive, left-wing agenda.

These actions are evidence that the progressive sectors are trying various strategies to make a leftward shift in all areas of the U.S. justice system by increasing the number of judges sympathetic to their interests from the federal courts to the highest levels of the Supreme Court.

If this is achieved, the left will gain absolute power by controlling the executive branch, the legislative majority, and the judiciary.
