Joe Biden uses the word “birthing persons” instead of “mothers” in the 2022 budget proposal, formalizing terminologies that leftists declare as “inclusive” under the banner of gender ideology.
The Democratic president continues to hold firm to the outlines of the globalist agenda that pushes, among other things, gender ideology.
Within the 72-page budget documents released on May 28, Biden allocated more than $200 million to pursue policies that are supposed to “reduce maternal mortality” and end “racial disparities among people who give birth.”
Even as recently as late March, as The BL reported, the U.S. State Department asked Congress for $2.5 million to create the Office of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI) to advance the LGBT agenda, a priority progressive policy in the Biden administration.
Meanwhile, according to Life Site News, Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, founder of the Ruth Institute, a global non-profit organization dedicated to defending the family, criticized those promoting transgender ideology. She said they are “very sophisticated” in manipulating words to construct a new view of reality.
Morse called the term “giving birth,” propaganda and suggested that the appearance of such terminology in official documents is a way of “wearing people down so that the word ‘mother’ is removed from their thought process.'”
Predictably, a progressive group that pushes and implements the abortion agenda came out in defense of using the term “birthing persons” in the proposed 2022 budget.
“When we talk about birthing people, we’re being inclusive. It’s that simple. We use gender neutral language when talking about pregnancy, because it’s not just cis-gender women that can get pregnant and give birth. Reproductive freedom is for *every* body,” pro-abortion group NARAL Pro-Choice America stated in a tweet.
Katy Faust, founder of “Them Before Us” is committed to policies defending children’s rights. Faust said that promoting phrases such as “person giving birth” is subject to the belief that men also have the capacity to gestate and bear a child, insisting on the imaginary while “rejecting the biological reality” that only women can be mothers.
In a blunt statement, Faust indicated that the formal imposition of the term “birthing persons” in the 2022 budget is tantamount to “a massive power grab for the state,” explaining that when biology does not determine who is a mother and who is a father, then the state can determine who is.
The Biden administration’s progressive ideas of “inclusion and equality” aim to break all traditional and conservative Judeo-Christian bonds of the American people. However, the idea has been widely criticized by conservative and religious sectors from the beginning of his term in office when he pushed through the controversial “Equality Act,” which proposes, among other things, to eliminate the legal recognition of male and female sex from the biological sense of the term.
In line with this, Faust said conservatives must “strengthen themselves” and use their platforms to combat the replacement of traditional concepts with new phrases promoted by radical ideologies that deny fundamental realities.
What the progressive left has been doing “is a massive attempt to control language, and if you can control language, you can control lives,” she said.
