Shelbyville police are investigating what led someone to shoot out the window of a KFC’s drive-thru at noon on Oct. 28. Witnesses say she was unhappy that she did not receive a fork and napkin with her order.
No one was injured in the shooting, but for the remainder of the day the restaurant was forced to close.

Shelby County dispatch confirmed Shelbyville police were called to the KFC for a report of a shooting, but so far, no details have been released by the department.
Charlene Witt is the manager at the Subway restaurant directly across from KFC.
“I just can’t even think about what was going through their head to pull out a gun and shoot a window. It’s scary,” Witt said.
The restaurant has several cameras in the drive thru and witnesses say police have a clear picture of the vehicle, but those images have not been released.
Witt took this opportunity to remind her own employees about how to handle angry customers.
“If someone comes in irate, just give them what they want. Just give them what they want and be done with it and get them out of the store as quick as you can,” Witt said.
