After Brianna Cooper, 11, heard her classmate being reprimanded in a way she thought was unjust, she decided to pull out her phone and record the interaction.

She thought she was doing the right thing—but her mother was shocked by the school’s response.

The audio recording of Brianna caught up with what sounds like the teacher berating the other student. “Biggest kid in fifth grade and you’re acting like the smallest one,” she said. “I wonder what your mom looks like.”

But it didn’t stop there—the teacher dished out what appeared to be terrifying threats too. “Don’t let the size fool you. I will drop you.”

Nevertheless, she found herself called into the principal’s office as Brianna took the recording to a teacher.

The school claims the recording violates the privacy rules of the school and so has chosen to expel Brianna as a punishment.

Authorities said the teacher involved has been fired for verbally abusing the pupil.
