After a courageous battle with a rare form of leukemia, a 4-year-old girl died Sunday morning, Sept. 15.
Rowan Price of Roanoke, Virginia, was surrounded by her family when she died at 11:45 a.m.
The daughter of two doting parents, Scott and Mandy Price, Rowan was diagnosed with AML M7, a rare form of aggressive leukemia for children, on Oct. 5 in 2018.
Rowan was then taken to Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina for a stem cell transplant.
The family wrote on their Rowan Strong Facebook page that the transplant journey was hard, but Rowan got through it, and the family even received the news in May that they were praying for: Rowan was cancer-free. But a month later, they learned her cancer had returned.
Below is Mandy’s note for her daughter on their Facebook supporter page:
“I believe she was our Earth Angel. Her wings were hidden to most but I knew who she really was. She spread beauty and love. And her light shined so bright in this world. Our life is so much better because Rowan was in it. 4.5 years is not long enough to love you on this earth Row. I will love you forever and always Rowie. Cancer didn’t win, you did my princess warrior, you did!”
