Whistleblower in the Ukraine case is a ‘registered Democrat’: report

Anchor Jake Tapper on Thursday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Lead” confirmed that the so-called whistleblower in the Ukraine case was a “registered Democrat.” 

“First from CNN, a source familiar with the whistleblower investigation tells me that the political bias referred to by the Intelligence Community Inspector General is that the whistleblower is a registered Democrat. That is the bias. The IG acknowledged the bias in his statement that said it didn’t change the facts of the whistleblower complaint. The attorney for the whistleblower declined to give us a comment,” Tapper said.

One of the whistleblower’s lawyers, Mark Zaid, responded to reports that the anonymous whistleblower was registered as a Democrat over Twitter as part of a long thread that responded to critics claiming to be partisan.

“We won’t comment on identifying info but if true, give me a break! Bias? Seriously? Most ppl are,” Zaid said.

The accusation of the whistleblower triggered an impeachment probe against President Trump and alleges that Trump had unfairly pressured Ukraine to investigate the links of political rival Joe Biden and his family to Ukraine.
