America’s second-highest-ranking official congratulated the president for peacefully leading the nation throughout his first term.

Vice President Mike Pence applauded President Trump for doing everything in his power to avoid creating new international military confrontations.

“I am proud to report with just a few days left in our Administration, our Administration is the first in decades that did not get America into a new war,” the vice president said on Twitter.

In the past four years, the Trump administration championed peace by ordering U.S. armed forces to withdraw from war-torn Afghanistan, Iraq, and Somalia.

“That is peace through strength,” the vice president said.

President Trump repeatedly stressed he did not share the U.S. Department of Defense’s position that engaging in foreign armed conflicts could be in America’s best interests.

“I am not saying the military is in love with me—the soldiers are—the top people in the Pentagon probably are not,” he said in an earlier statement. “They want to do nothing but fight wars so that all of those wonderful companies that make the bombs and make the planes, and make everything else, stay happy but we are getting out of the endless wars.”

However, this political restraint helped the incumbent become the first American leader since former President Ronald Reagan, not to start a war.

President Trump instead used diplomatic channels to support the people of Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua in resisting “corrupt, socialist regimes.” He reversed former President Barack Obama’s policy to give U.S. taxpayer money to the surviving Castro family dictatorship.

The president helped secure two new Israel peace deals with its Arab neighbors, doubling the number of historic agreements achieved in more than 72 years. He helped Serbia and Kosovo agree to end the military conflict and normalize economic ties.

He also reversed Washington’s “decades-long, bipartisan refusal to confront China” through introducing tariffs that compelled the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) to sign an improved phase one trade agreement. This measure aimed to protect Americans from unfair competition and intellectual property theft, and deter malign actors from accessing crucial American information networks.

“The facts speak for themselves,” foreign policy expert Harry Kazianis said according to the White House. “Trump has successfully aligned U.S. national security strategy with our national interests.”

Pence also commended the national military service for keeping the world safe.

“Since 9/11 the 10th Mountain has been the most deployed division of the U.S. Army. 10th Mountain brigades have served a combined 46 deployments to Iraq & Afghanistan and one of the first conventional units to deploy to Afghanistan after 9/11 came from Fort Drum,” he said on Twitter.

“From this very Fort, selfless patriots like you have been at the heart of the war on terror from the very beginning. And it is because of you that we reached the 19th anniversary of that terrible day having had no major terrorist attack on American soil since,” he added.
