The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s office accused the owner of energy company Burisma Holdings with laundering money from criminal activities through an investment fund close to the U.S. Democratic Party according to news agency Tass.
At a press conference on Wednesday, Ukrainian Member of Parliament Alexander Dubinsky cited materials from his investigation and denounced of former Ecology Minister Mykola Zlochevsky, the current owner of the oil and gas company Burisma, and also denounced Hunter Biden, son of former Vice President Joe Biden.
The complainant said Hunter Biden and his partners received up to $16.5 million “for his services” when he was on the company’s board of directors: “The son of Vice President Joe Biden was receiving payment for his services, with money raised through criminal means and money laundering,” he added.
In his presentation, he also clarified, “Biden received money that did not come from the company’s successful operation but rather from money stolen from citizens.”
Dubinsky also stressed that the information of Hunter Biden’s income under his contract with Burisma is a “link that reveals how money is siphoned [from Ukraine].”
Hunter Biden had a lucrative position on the Burisma Board in 2014, with no specialization in the energy sector.
Dubinsky explained that this information is part of a large-scale money laundering network of Burisma and Zlochevsky, a sort of ‘financial pyramid’ created in Ukraine, involving politicians from the time of former President Viktor Yanukovich who continued this plan under the successor president, with the backing of the former governor of the National Bank of Ukraine.
The other deputy seen at the press conference, Andriy Derkach, said that the U.S. company Franklin Templeton Investments also participated in the financial pyramid.
“The investigation suggests that the Yanukovichs [former Ukrainian president] illegally obtained $7.4 billion and laundered it through an investment fund close to the U.S. Democratic Party as government domestic loan bonds,” he said.
According to investigative journalist John Solomon, Hunter Biden and his colleagues at the Ukrainian gas firm maintained multiple contacts with the Obama State Department during the 2016 election campaign, even just a month before Vice President Joe Biden forced Ukraine to fire the prosecutor investigating the immense corruption network of his son’s company.

The Ukraine Case—which triggered the impeachment inquiry of President Trump by the Democrats—has further awakened the need for a thorough investigation into the Bidens and the Obama administration.
Democrats allege that President Trump threaten international aid and pressured the Ukrainian president in exchange for investigating the Biden—one of his current political rivals—which was found to be false according to the transcripts of the call, as there was no pressure of any kind, although the issue was mentioned in the conversation between the two presidents.
