As investigations into corruption in Ukraine move forward, more connections are coming to light between the accused and prominent members of the Democratic Party, the latest major revelation being the connection to Adam Schiff.
Ukrainian Attorney General Ruslan Ryaboshapka is investigating Burisma Holdings’ owner and former Ecology Minister Mykola Zlochevsky for “theft of government funds” and in the course of his investigations is revealing very suspicious connections with the U.S. Democratic Party.
At a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday, Nov. 20, MP Andriy Derkach announced that MPs have received new materials from investigative journalists on international corruption and the involvement of Ukrainian officials.
Millions in payments to Hunter Biden
It came to light this week that Burisma transferred to Hunter Biden, son of the former Democratic vice president and presidential candidate Joe Biden, and three others $16.5 million in 2016.
When the then Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin wanted to investigate this company and the irregular payments, he was fired at the behest of Joe Biden during his fifth visit to Kyiv in two years in December 2015.
“The subject of pressure was the $1 billion credit guarantee that the United States should have provided to Ukraine: Biden himself acknowledged the pressure in his speech to the U.S. Foreign Relations Council in January 2018,” Andriy Derkach explained.
Democratic Party laundered dirty Ukrainian money
Parliamentarians noted that the director of Burisma had created a money-laundering network in the form of a ‘financial pyramid’ operating with the backing of the former governor of the National Bank of Ukraine during the term of President Viktor Yanukovych [2010-2014].
“The Yanukovych family is suspected, in particular, with legalizing (laundering) of criminally obtained income through Franklin Templeton Investments, an investment fund carrying out purchases of external government loan bonds totaling $7.4 billion,” Derkach said.
This investment fund is connected to the U.S. Democratic Party, in fact, parliamentarians explained the relationship with former President Obama:
“The son of Templeton’s founder, John Templeton Jr., was one of President Obama’s major campaign donors. Another fund-related character is Thomas Donilon, the managing director of BlackRock Investment Institute, shareholder Franklin Templeton Investments, which has the largest share in the fund. It is noteworthy that he previously was Obama’s national security adviser,” Derkach said.
Adam Schiff connected to corruption in Ukraine
According to Adam Schiff’s (D-Calif.) financial disclosure report, he received dividends and donations from both investment funds in fiscal year 2016.
In view of all the connections between US Democrats and corruption in Ukraine, legislators called on the current presidents of both countries, Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskiy, to “investigate suspicions of the legalization of $7.4 billion by the “family” of ex-President Viktor Yanukovych through the American investment fund Franklin Templeton Investments, which they said has ties to the U.S. Democratic Party.”
