Actor Stephen Baldwin believes that “you can’t be pro-choice and call yourself a follower of Jesus Christ,” even if it is approved by a particular church, pointing out the contradiction in the sentence.

For the actor, one of the rare pro-life supporters in a basically progressive Hollywood, he made his statements to Faithwire last year.

“So, anybody who hears me say that and goes, ‘Well, hey I’m … this type of Christian or this denomination and in our church … it’s acceptable.’ I’m just going to say, ‘Well, whatever they’re teaching you according to God’s word that has allowed you to believe that is incorrect,’” Baldwin explained.

For Baldwin, science is on the side of his firm belief in the lives of unborn babies.

He mentioned in the interview that the “scientific evidence showing that a baby at 20 weeks is in pain” is an important reason to avoid abortion.

He also believes that taking the life of an unborn child violates the Bible’s command, “Thou shalt not kill.”

The actor’s contradictory profile would include House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

“Pelosi claims to be Catholic, yet holds a 100 percent pro-abortion voting record and supports a party platform that favors largely unregulated, taxpayer-funded abortions at virtually any point before birth,”  the pro-life site Life Site notes.

President Trump has been a strong supporter of life and has confirmed this in his administration’s actions.

Among the provisions passed in that regard, Trump issued an executive order known as the Mexico City Policy or the Protection of Life in World Health Care Act, which revoked taxpayer funds for International Planned Parenthood’s abortion business, Life News reported.

Baldwin, in addition to being an actor, is a director, producer, and author who also devotes time to ministry, charity, and humanitarian work.

Unlike his brother Alec, he is also a staunch supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump.
