Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel on Tuesday, Sept. 24, called on former Vice President Joe Biden to release transcripts of discussions he had with Ukrainian and Chinese leaders while he worked under the Obama administration.

McDaniel’s requests came after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced the formal impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump who hours earlier had said he will release the “complete, and unredacted” transcript of his call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“You will see it was a very friendly and totally appropriate call. No pressure and, unlike Joe Biden and his son, NO quid pro quo!” the president said.

Democrats are accusing President Trump of abusing the powers of his office to pressure the Ukrainian leader to interfere into the 2020 election and investigate his presidential rival.

“First it was the Russian hoax. Now it’s the Ukraine hoax,” McDaniel said in a statement. “Once again, Joe Biden has shown he is just as extreme as the rest of the 2020 Democrats who are desperate to bring President Trump down.”

The Republican urged Biden to clarify questions regarding his son’s business ties with a Ukrainian natural gas company that paid him $50,000 a month “to lobby the Obama-Biden administration” and Biden’s threats to the Ukrainians of pulling $1 billion in U.S. loans if “they failed to fire a prosecutor investigating the company.”

“Now that the president has authorized the release of the transcript of his call with President Zelensky, we call on Biden to release the transcripts of his calls as vice president with Ukrainian and Chinese leaders while his son was conducting shady business deals in those countries,” she added.

Sen. Lindsey Gramham (R-S.C.) also called for an investigation into Biden’s ties with Ukraine, saying, “I don’t trust the media to do this, I’m hoping somebody of the Department of Justice will appoint an investigator to look at all things in Ukraine while we look at all things in Russia.”

The former vice president walked away from the stage, denying to answer questions related to his relations with Ukrainian government.

President Donald Trump retweeted Fox News host Mark Levin claiming, “Media trying to protect Biden, ignoring MASSIVE DEMOCRAT SCANDAL.”
