Believing a two-year shadow over the White House at last has been lifted, President Donald Trump and his supporters framed Robert Mueller’s testimony before Congress on Wednesday as a clear-cut victory.
As the testimony ended, the president tweeted to thank the Democrats and asserted: “TRUTH IS A FORCE OF NATURE!”
“I would like to thank the Democrats for holding this morning’s hearing. Now, after 3 hours, Robert Mueller has to subject himself to #ShiftySchiff – an Embarrassment to our Country!” the president tweeted.

His eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., tweeted to claim the testimony is a disaster for Democrats.
“Funny, Mueller can’t understand the Republicans but he can totally understand the Democrats questions. This is a disaster for dems,” Trump Jr. wrote.
Today was a great win for my father, Republicans, and all Americans. Hopefully now Democrats can move on from this hoax and actually start working for the American people.

And the president’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, blasted Mueller’s frequent stumbles and calls for questions to be repeated, tweeting that the former FBI director was “being destroyed on credibility, knowledge, competence and numerous ‘ahs,’ pauses and excuses like ‘beyond my purview.’”
White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham issued a verdict, saying: “The last three hours have been an epic embarrassment for the Democrats. Expect more of the same in the second half.”
A statement from Trump Campaign Manager Brad Parscale released minutes after the hearings ended said, “This entire spectacle has always been about the Democrats trying to undo the legitimate result of the 2016 election, and today they again failed miserably.”
The statement continued, “Robert Mueller confirmed what we already knew: No collusion, no obstruction, and the way President Trump has been treated is unprecedented,” according to Fox News.
Parscale went on to say that nearly “three years and tens of millions of dollars have been wasted on this witch hunt.”
“It is now even more apparent that Democrats are completely consumed with their hatred of the president and their obsession with overturning the will of the people who elected him.”
In a statement released on Wednesday afternoon, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said: “After three years, millions of taxpayer dollars and countless lies from Democrats, Mueller just reaffirmed what we’ve known all along: There was no collusion and no obstruction. Case closed.”
Before Mueller testified, the president had tweeted nine times about the investigation, with a lot of questions.
“So Democrats and others can illegally fabricate a crime, try pinning it on a very innocent President, and when he fights back against this illegal and treasonous attack on our Country, they call It Obstruction?” President Trump wrote in one early tweet. “Wrong! Why didn’t Robert Mueller investigate the investigators?”
The president’s supporters enthused over results. Jay Sekulow, one of his attorneys, released a statement blasting the investigators as “politically biased” before concluding, “The American people understand that this issue is over. They also understand that the case is closed.”
In the report, Mueller said he could not exonerate the president on obstruction of justice but that investigators did not find sufficient evidence to establish charges of criminal conspiracy between Russia and the Trump campaign.
