One of the largest churches in the United States, in St. Louis, Missouri, with a majority of African-American citizens, affirmed its opposition to the practice of abortion and the education policies promoted by the Democrats. Also, polls from different consulting firms showed that black voters are closer to President Donald Trump.
According to an opinion column published in the Washington Examiner, the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) comprises 7 million African American members, who unanimously expressed openly their support for the value and dignity of human life.
Unlike most members of the Democratic Party, President Trump is totally anti-abortion and a staunch defender of life.
On Nov. 25, Rasmussen and Emerson published the data of their latest polls, in which the growing approval of Trump predominated among African American voters: the first survey showed 34% and the second 34.5%.
Conservative activist Deneen Borelli stressed from her Twitter account that her community’s support for Trump is “the Democrats’ worst nightmare.”
The family life campaign
COGIC joined the Human Pro-Life Coalition (a national nonprofit organization) in 2016 to carry out a three-year project to save babies from abortion, known as the Family Life Campaign.
The initiative of both groups is aimed at opposing the abortion industry and raising awareness in people’s hearts and minds about the value of every human being’s life, including the life of the unborn. In this way, all members participating in this project work to make abortion an unthinkable option.
“Launching a joint initiative with the Church of God in Christ shows the power of collaboration and coalition as we rescue children and serve families across America,” said Brian Fisher, president and co-founder of Coalition Humane.
“African Americans are disproportionately impacted by abortion, and I deeply appreciate the Church of God in Christ’s leadership in stopping this injustice. I hope other major denominations will join us as we work together to make abortion unthinkable and unavailable. Christians can and should end the abortion holocaust in our country,” he added.
The initiative of both organizations comes at a time when many Democratic politicians, from presidential candidates to state legislators, are advancing the abortion agenda.
This year, Virginia State Democratic legislator Kathy Tran introduced a bill that would allow doctors to kill an unborn baby while its mother is in labor.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed into law the Reproductive Health Act, which legalizes abortion through the third trimester and exempts those involved in pregnancy termination from criminal charges.
In Vermont, a law was passed in June allowing abortion to be performed for any reason at any stage of pregnancy.
Because of this situation, many Americans expressed their approval of the Trump administration’s pro-life efforts in opposition to the abortion agenda advocated by Democrats.
