A Republican from California betrayed his fellow party member but it will do little to stop the disorderly behavior of Democrats, a close ally of the former president said.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) believes House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) failed to unify both sides of the aisle, even after he criticized the congresswoman’s professional conduct.
“No matter what [the] GOP House minority leader does, it would never be enough for the ‘hate America’ Democrats,'” she said on Twitter. “As much as he genuinely tries to work with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for the good of this country, she refuses to see the hypocrisy of her own conference.”
Greene believes the Democrats and left-leaning media are not really working toward bipartisanship and are just trying to wipe out the GOP and everything positive it stands for.
“They are only set out to destroy Republicans, your jobs, our economy, your children’s education, and lives, steal our freedoms, and erase God’s creation,” she said. “The bloodthirsty media are their henchmen who help them by relentlessly attacking anyone in their path.”
The remarks came after McCarthy tried to win support from the Democratic Party by distancing himself from Greene’s pledge to continue lobbying for former President Trump’s policies.
“I condemn those comments unequivocally, I condemned them in the past, I continue to condemn them today,” McCarthy said in a statement.
He admitted his bid to extend an olive branch failed miserably.
“I offered Majority Leader Hoyer a path to lower the temperature and address these concerns,” he said. “Instead of coming together to do that, the Democrats are choosing to raise the temperature by taking the unprecedented step to further their partisan power grab, regarding the committee assignments of the other party.”
Greene was not surprised by McCarthy’s open admission that he failed to win support from Democrats. She revealed if the GOP controlled both chambers of Congress, the Democratic Party would be even more disruptive.
“If @SpeakerPelosi was the minority leader, she would pull every identity politics trick in the book to defend her member,” she said on Twitter. “White, Woman, Wife, Mother, Christian, Conservative, Business Owner. These are the reasons they do not want me on Ed & Labor. It is my identity & my values.”
She also refused to back down from various comments she made before she became an elected representative.
“We know who they all are. We owe them no apologies. We will never back down. We only serve the ONE who created us ALL, and we only bow to HIM,” she said. “And we know who we are, free and saved by HIS grace. No matter what.”
