In a series of tweets, US President Donald Trump has claimed the Mueller probe is illegal, the FBI is dodgy and that Saturday Night Live is colluding with Democrats.

The President has unleashed a fresh attack on the media and its “collusion” with prosecutors. In a series of tweets, Mr Trump claimed special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe is illegal, alleged that the FBI’s conduct is “absolutely unthinkable”, and that Trump administration coverage in the mainstream media, particularly on Saturday Night Live, “can’t be legal”.

“The Russian Witch Hunt Hoax, started as the ‘insurance policy’ long before I even got elected, is very bad for our Country,” Trump tweeted.

“They are Entrapping people for misstatements, lies or unrelated things that took place many years ago. Nothing to do with Collusion. A Democrat Scam!”

“A REAL scandal is the one sided coverage, hour by hour, of networks like NBC & Democrat spin machines like Saturday Night Live. It is all nothing less than unfair news coverage and Dem commercials. Should be tested in courts, can’t be legal? Only defame & belittle! Collusion?” he tweeted.

And then, in another tweet, he accused the FBI of intimidating his associates into making false claims.

“Remember, Michael Cohen only became a “Rat” after the FBI did something which was absolutely unthinkable & unheard of until the Witch Hunt was illegally started. They BROKE INTO AN ATTORNEY’S OFFICE! Why didn’t they break into the DNC to get the Server, or Crooked’s office?”

President Trump has long given his adversaries original nicknames to mock and diminish them.

In 2016, he dubbed Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton “Crooked Hillary.” GOP primary rival Jeb Bush was known as “low-energy Jeb.” He labeled another Floridian, Sen. Marco Rubio, “Little Marco.” He has already given his potential 2020 Democratic rivals nicknames: “Crazy Bernie” Sanders, “Sleepy Joe” Biden, and “Pocahontas” Elizabeth Warren, reported by Washington Examiner.

Cohen was sentenced on Wednesday to three years in prison for bank and tax fraud crimes, including campaign finance violations related to Trump. In the months since the raid, Cohen has become intensely critical of his former boss.
