Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-La.) was caught red-handed watching a round of golf during the ongoing House Judiciary Committee impeachment hearing on Tuesday night, Dec 10.
“What on earth is Democrat Rep. Cedric Richmond watching on his laptop during this impeachment markup?” GOP Rapid Response Director Steve Guest tweeted at 9:28 pm, Thursday, Dec 12.
“To me, it looks like Rep. Richmond is watching the President’s Cup golf tournament. Richmond’s actions are a DISGRACE,” wrote Guest.

A second tweet followed about 30 minutes later with a zoomed in photo, confirming that the congressman was, indeed, watching a golf tournament on his laptop during the hearing.
“Zoomed in. Yep. Democrat Rep. Cedric Richmond is watching golf,” tweeted Guest.

Just before he was caught watching the President’s Cup tournament, Richmond admonished his colleagues stating that there was an “emergency to our national election going on right now.”
He even declared that removing the president is a priority because “the president is putting our 2020 presidential elections at risk,” he said during his Sunday appearance on MSNBC.
“Our oath to the Constitution requires us to take this drastic, solemn, and regrettable step, but it is necessary because if we don’t protect America’s precious right to vote, it is clear that the other side won’t,” Richmond stated.
It seemed that the impeachment is a joke and the hearings just a formality for some of the Democrats, at least.
This was despite House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, (D-Calif) giving ample lip service about the Democrats “solemn” duty to impeach President Donald Trump.
“Our tone must be prayerful, respectful, solemn, worthy of the Constitution,” Pelosi had said.
With due respect, it should be a somber occasion, since the Democrats are attempting to unseat a duly elected president and negate the vote of 63 million Americans.
“This is a very serious event in our country. We wish it could have been avoided,” Pelosi purportedly said to Democrats in a closed-door meeting, as she warned them “not to get distracted.”
Republican National Committee spokesperson Elizabeth Harrington tweeted: ” So Solemn. So prayerful,” in her response to the video of Richmond watching golf.

For such a somber moment as Nancy Pelosi put it. They sure don’t seem to be taking it very serious, if they’re watching golf.

Spending his time on something more worthwhile. Can’t say I blame him

Glad to see he’s taking impeachment so seriously after all it’s such a solemn moment that according to Nancy Pelosi is prayerful.

Is Rep. Richmond watching the President’s Cup golf tournament looking for a crime? What in the world is going on? Omg #impeachmentDebate

And of course, there are others who appeared to support Richmond for not focusing on the “[expletive] show.”
But seriously, who can blame him? Is there anyone on earth, of any party, who really wants to sit through this [expletive] show? Do what you gotta do to survive, Cedric!

Can’t blame him. Most of America is uninterested in the impeachment proceedings.
