A controversial senator unwittingly produced further evidence showing he is a left wing political leader on Feb. 24.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has released details of his many election policies that have a disturbing resemblance to those typically seen in a communist dictatorship.
A fact sheet that the so-called Democratic presidential candidate published on his election campaign website shows he would introduce heavier taxes on the 0.1 percent of extremely wealthy Americans and spend about 57 percent of the $4.35 trillion collected to provide public housing for all.
“Bernie’s proposal to guarantee housing as a human right and to eliminate homelessness will cost $2.5 trillion over the next decade,” the fact sheet said. “It is fully paid for by a wealth tax on the top one-tenth of 1 percent—those who have a net worth of at least $32 million.”
The candidate also plans to introduce a $25 levy on every $5,000 worth of shares traded on the stock market to raise $2.4 trillion within the next decade, 92 percent of which would be spent on paying off all student loans and offering elementary, high school, and college levels of education for free.
He did not mention how the government would address investors who avoid paying the levy by either liquidating or transferring their money elsewhere according to Fox News.
“It will cost $2.2 trillion to make public colleges, universities, and trade schools tuition-free and to cancel all student debt over the next decade,” the fact sheet said. “It is fully paid for by a modest tax on Wall Street speculation that will raise an estimated $2.4 trillion over 10 years.”
Free child care and preschool would also be offered through taxing the top 0.1 percent of extremely wealthy Americans that is claimed to amass $4.35 trillion, 35 percent of which would cover the entire cost.
“Bernie’s proposal to guarantee universal child care and pre-school to every family in America who needs it will cost $1.5 trillion,” the fact sheet said.
The senator would also increase national borrowing to “more than pay” for the $32 trillion cost of offering Medicare for all under the pretenses of reducing the number of preventable deaths caused by a medical condition.
Fox News revealed part of this expense would be created by offering illegal aliens benefits and primary health care services. There is no accurate way to estimate the final cost as the exact number of illegal aliens in the United States is unknown.
“According to a Feb. 15, 2020, study by epidemiologists at Yale University, the Medicare for all bill that Bernie wrote would save over $450 billion in health care costs and prevent 68,000 unnecessary deaths–each and every year,” the fact sheet said.
The Republican Party strongly questioned the sustainability of Sanders’s proposal to raise $3.085 trillion through suing and taxing industries that handle fossil fuels as it would only lead to job losses. It was also unimpressed by his plan to cut defense spending by $1.215 trillion through winding down military operations that protect the world’s oil supply.
“From wanting to nationalize America’s major industries to banning fracking, which could gut nearly 15 million jobs, Bernie Sanders’s ideas, which have been adopted by the rest of the Democrat field, are a danger to America and to our way of life,” the GOP said on Twitter.
