A Democrat who enjoys remembering his time as president recommended sending in a special operations team to remove his successor by force.
Former President Barack Obama thinks it would be a good idea to organize a military coup against incumbent President Donald Trump to physically remove him from the White House.
“Well, I think we can always send the Navy SEALS in there to dig him out,” Obama said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in a video shared on YouTube.
Obama criticized the Trump administration for upholding the integrity of the election system by scrutinizing the results in court.
He suggested it would be much easier for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden if Republicans voluntarily accepted defeat and quietly vacated the White House instead of verifying who won the election.
“I wish the transition [to a Biden administration] was going better because we lose time during these crises,” he said. “When I came in, we were in the middle of a big crisis, the financial crisis. George W. Bush … ordered everybody on his team to work seamlessly with us on the transition [and he] could not have been more gracious, could not have been more helpful.”
The remarks came after host Jimmy Kimmel asked the Democrat whether he was aware of any secret hiding places at the property that the incumbent could use to avoid being evicted.
“You know the White House well. You lived there for eight years [so] are there places someone could hide if let us say they were going to be removed?” Kimmel can be heard saying on the video. “Are there little cubby holes which you know about?”
Obama also made fun of President Trump after he was asked whether the great length of his new memoir called a “Promised Land” was intended to deter the incumbent from reading it.
“I do not think it would have had to be 700 [pages] to make sure he did not read it from what I hear,” the Democrat said.
The BL previously reported this is not the first time a Democrat suggested evicting President Trump from the Oval Office by force.
“The fact is whether he knows it yet or not, he will be leaving,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “It has nothing to do with the certain occupant of the White House does feel like moving and has to be fumigated out of there because the presidency is the presidency.”
The Democrats will not wait for the incumbent to move out before holding Biden’s swearing-in ceremony on Jan. 20.
“Just because he might not want to move out of the White House does not mean we will not have an inauguration ceremony to inaugurate a duly elected president of the United States,” Pelosi said. “It is not geography or location so; so much for him.”
