A group of Republican lawmakers, led by Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas), has called on President Joe Biden to “immediately undergo a cognitive test and share the results with the American people” following his embarrassing performances on the world stage.

“Given the precedent set and President Biden’s CLEAR mental struggles, I believe it’s past time he take a cognitive test,” Jackson tweeted on Thursday, June 17.

In the attached letter, sent to Biden, his physician Kevin O’Connor, and his chief medical advisor Anthony Fauci on Thursday, June 17, the lawmakers claimed that the president’s “mental decline and forgetfulness have become more apparent over the past eighteen months.”

The lawmakers pointed out some cases to demonstrate a clear decline of Biden’s cognitive ability.

In March, Biden forgot the name of Pentagon, the Department of Defense and the Defense Secretary.

At the end of February, Biden visited Houston to survey the winter storm damage where he misidentified the time of day and Senator John Cornyn’s title, mispronounced Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s first name and Rep. Lizzie Fletcher’s maiden name of Pannill.

In May, Biden remembered an article from “my fourth of fifth year as vice president…” that said, “Biden travel 1,300,000 miles on Air Force One,” though a vice president actually travels aboard Air Force Two. He also forgot the time his mother passed away.

In March 2020, Biden started to recite the oft-quoted first line of the Declaration of Independence, but he seemingly forgot the phrase, stating “We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women are created, by the, you know, you know, the thing.”

In the letter, the Republican lawmakers said that they are concerned about Biden’s current cognitive state and urged him to follow the precedent set by former President Donald Trump to document and demonstrate sound mental abilities.

“The American people deserve to have absolute confidence in their President. They deserve to know that he or she can perform the duties demanded of the office, and they deserve to have full transparency on the mental state of their highest elected leader,” Rep. Jackson said in the letter.

“I would argue that the American people don’t have that confidence in President Biden,” Jackson said. He added that when he was physician to then-President Trump, the liberal media relentlessly pushed a narrative that he needed a cognitive test and that it should be the standard for anyone serving as Commander-in-Chief and Head of State. Trump tested and excelled.

“We encourage you to follow the example set by President Trump, by undergoing a cognitive test as soon as possible and immediately making the results available for the American people,” the letter ended.

A dozen of other Republicans co-signed the letter, including Reps. Bob Gibbs (OH-07), Jeff Duncan (SC-03), Andy Harris (MD-01), Brian Babin (TX-36), Jody Hice (GA-10), Claudia Tenney (NY-22), W. Gregory Steube (FL-17), Tom Tiffany (WI-07), Kat Cammack (FL-03), Jerry L. Carl (AL-01), Pat Fallon (TX-04), Diana Harshbarger (TN-01), and Beth Van Duyne (TX-24).
