When Mariana Whitley Tumlinson noticed a man in Santa coat on his knee in a moment of prayer below a framed picture of Jesus, she was choked up. He was the Santa who had just brought gifts for her children patients.
It’s just sad to think how empty those little ones in hospitals feel when it comes to the holidays. They should be out there, running with friends and asking Santa for Christmas gifts. Yet, they spend their holidays in hospitals.
Mariana and her people tried their best to bring the children the Christmas spirit. They invited a Santa to give them nice gifts. And that was where the story begins.
After the Santa left the little ones, Mariana captured him in a moment of prayer. She took a picture of him and shared her thoughts on Facebook.
“I keep getting choked up with this photo,” Mariana Whitley Tumlinson wrote. “Today, after Santa visited our patients and was on his way out, he noticed our chapel.”
“I, of course, said yes,” she continued. “I didn’t walk in with him right away but when I did I was so moved by this image I had to capture it.”
“What a great reminder of the reason for the season.”
The story went viral last Dec. 21 and recently it is being shared again, and its message is again touching many.
This Christmas, don’t forget to pray for children in need of healing and strength and for their families to stay courageous!
