A parent whose child attends John C. Fremont Elementary school in Merced, California, is feeling extremely generous this holiday season and has given a gift to the campus.

Every child at John C. Fremont Elementary School now has their lunch debt paid off thanks to a parent of a student.

The total amount of debt came out to $1,572.25.

Rey Lupian said he did not do it for the attention. He just wanted the opportunity to make a difference for others this holiday season.

”It’s shocking,” said Fremont Principal Dawn Hubble. “Tremendously kind. Human kindness exists and it matters and it’s contagious.”

Hubble said she’s never seen anything like it in her career as an educator.

The Merced City School District does have a policy in place that there will be no charge limit for meals.

This helps ensure that students who attend schools in the district will always get a lunch and will never go hungry.

The district also supplies breakfast and snacks to students, all for free.

The students, staff, and families of Fremont Elementary want to thank Lupian for his incredible act of kindness.
