Chicago Bears linebacker Khalil Mack made a generous donation to Florida residents by paying off 300 the holiday layaway accounts at a local Walmart.

On Friday, Dec. 6, the Walmart store in his hometown of Fort Pierce, Florida, announced the news on their Facebook page.

“We here at Walmart would like to thank the Khalil Mack Foundation for your generosity, and for making so many families happy for the holidays,” they wrote. “Everyone is truly grateful for everything you have done for them!”

Store manager Mathias Libardi said that a representative from Mack’s foundation had approached the store and asked to be a secret Santa. The payment covered all the store’s 300 layaway accounts. It isn’t clear exactly how much money was doled out, according to the TC Palm.

It’s not the first time the 28-year-old has helped out others.

Earlier this month, Mack donated $2,000 to the Chicago Chargers’ U14 Pop Warner football team to help them get to the Disney National Championship in Florida, WGN-TV reported.

The linebacker also paid for 100 cleats for all the players at his former high school in Fort Pierce, the TC Palm reported.

The All-Pro linebacker has played for six seasons in the NFL. He is currently in his second season with the Bears after coming over in a blockbuster trade just before the start of the 2018 season.
