Flights departing from Binhai International Airport were canceled due to a Covid outbreak at Tianjin Airport.

The epidemic continues in Tianjin, with one area of the Tianjin Free Trade Zone, Tianjin Airport Economic Area, adjusted to a high-risk area. In addition, all flights departing from Binhai International Airport were canceled.

According to Sina, on Feb. 27, there were nine new cases of locally confirmed cases. One case of asymptomatic infection in Tianjin, with seven confirmed cases in Binhai New Area, one in Dongli District, and one in Beichen District.

Many of the confirmed cases in Tianjin this round are apron cleaners at Tianjin Binhai International Airport.

According to Sina, from 00:00 to 12:00 on Feb. 27, 2022, the city reports, the nucleic acid test findings from 7 employees’ throat swabs at the centralized isolation site in Binhai New Area were all positive. And they were all related to Yayuan Foot Road (Airport Store). The municipal expert group confirmed the diagnosis, including six confirmed cases (two normal cases, four mild cases) and one asymptomatic infection.

CCTV reported on Feb. 27 Yayuan Foot Road in Tianjin Airport Economic Zone was adjusted to a high-risk area.

Merchants in the Taea Business Park Eastern District Parking Lot said they had to all closed because the Yayuan footpath next to them was classified as a high risk.

Hotel staff near Tianjin Binhai International Airport also said that their hotel had been requisitioned for a long time as an isolation point. As a result, all students with fever came there for isolation.
