According to Liberty Times, five missiles from China’s military exercises landed in Japan’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
Japanese Vice Foreign Minister Kenliang Mori has expressed strong objections to Kong Xuanyou, China’s Ambassador to Japan, demanding that Beijing immediately stop the military exercises.
Mori said that this is a serious matter concerning the national security and safety of the Japanese people. He added that China’s actions would seriously affect the peace and stability of the region and the world.
China’s regime is conducting six exercises surrounding Taiwan in retaliation for U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visiting the island.
Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi said it was the first time a Chinese missile had landed in Japan’s EEZ, adding that China’s military exercises were very dangerous.
Nobuo Kishi said that China letting five missiles fall into Japan’s EEZ is a serious matter related to national security and will be strongly condemned. He will protest through diplomatic channels, and the Japanese Ministry of Defense will make efforts to gather intelligence and conduct surveillance.
In a related development, Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense, on August 4, announced that, as of 4 pm, the Chinese Army had launched 11 “Dongfeng” ballistic missiles into the waters north, east, and south of Taiwan.
