A Chinese Shenyang J-11 fighter aircraft flew into the southwest corner of Taiwan’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on Wednesday, April 13.
In response, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China (MND) said that the dispatched Civil Air Patrol (CAP) aircraft issued radio warnings, and deployed air defense missile systems to monitor the activity.
Taiwan News reported this has been the eleventh day of intrusion this month. So far this month, Taiwan has tracked 26 Chinese military aircraft, including 17 fighter jets, six spotter planes, and three helicopters.
According to the statistics of the MND, in 2021, Chinese fighter aircraft intruded Taiwan’s ADIZ in total 961 times over 239 days.
