According to Apollo’s report, Beijing’s propaganda machine has been in full swing in the days leading up to the opening ceremony of the 24th Winter Olympic Games held in China’s National Stadium on the evening of Feb. 4.
Remarkably, Jiang Zemin and Zeng Qinghong’s faction reported news unfavorable to Xi Jinping on this occasion.
One article is titled “India decides to boycott Beijing Winter Olympics due to discontent over Qi Fabao’s torch-bearer role.”
The article was published by Duoweiwang, a Jiang Zemin and Zeng Qinghong faction newspaper, on Feb. 4.
According to the article, India has announced a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics due to Beijing’s decision about the torch-bearer for the Olympics.
Accordingly, Qi Fabao, the chosen torch-bearer, is a Communist soldier involved in the June 2020 conflict in Garhwan between India and China.
Duoweiwang is a Beijing-based newspaper and a CCP’s big foreign propaganda media.
Unlike other websites, Duoweiwang’s website has the former CCP leader Jiang Zemin pictures appearing almost every day, revealing the apparent factionalism.
While People’s Daily has been making all-out efforts to promote the Winter Olympics, news about Xi Jinping and the Winter Olympics takes up the entire front page, not to mention a special editorial.
Jiang Zemin’s website, on the contrary, has been reporting on India’s boycott, seemingly connected to the Winter Olympics.
The propaganda action is considered to be a tug-of-war between the two factions ahead of the upcoming 20th National Congress.
