Taiwan News reported on May 19 that four Chinese military aircraft entered Taiwan’s air defense identification zone, marking the 13th intrusion this month.

Taiwan’s National Defense Ministry (MND) said, on May 18, 2 People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) Shenyang J-16 fighter jets, 1 Shaanxi Y-8 reconnaissance plane, and 1 Shaanxi Y-8 electronic warfare plane flew into the southwest corner of Taiwan’s ADIZ.

Taiwan used planes, radio alerts, and air defense missile systems to track the PLAAF aircraft.

So far this month, China has sent 47 military aircraft, including 16 fighter jets, 16 spotter planes, 6 bombers, and 9 helicopters.

The MND also reported that a Chinese military aircraft also entered ADIZ two days ago.
